
The Cottingham Collaboration Award
The Cottingham Collaboration Award is to honor an individual who has shown exemplary leadership in advancing 9-1-1 in Texas through collaborative efforts between government and industry partners. Ronald Cottingham loved emergency communications professionals and strongly believed that collaboration was the best way to move 9-1-1 services forward in our Great State of Texas. He saw great opportunities to bridge our industry by working together.
This award is established in his memory and dedicated to his mission of improving 9-1-1 through collaboration. It recognizes a 9-1-1 professional who not only excels in his or her everyday job but who has gone above and beyond to further the goals of the Texas Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (TX-NENA).
Nomination Criteria

Must be a TX-NENA member in good standing,

Must have demonstrated dedication and integrity with respect to TX-NENA.

Must have provided vision, value, and leadership through collaboration with TX-NENA members and industry partners.

Must have achieved exceptional and sustained results with respect to collaborative efforts.
Award Criteria
The TX-NENA Executive Board will determine the recipient of the Cottingham Collaboration Award as nominated by the TX-NENA membership and as presented by the TX-NENA Nominating Committee. The Award will be presented if an appropriate nomination is made. If an appropriate nomination is not made, no award will be given.
